We have received overwhelming response from our esteemed Internet customers. Defying the doubting Thomases VSNL has proved its mettle once again. We've been receiving some queries from all of you about this service and the response has been one of a great boost for us. We look forward for more feedback from your side. Your encouragement has been our single most driving force. Here are some answers for the frequently asked questions:

 How many web site one user can make:
One user can make only one web site. i.e. one web site per VSNL Internet Account. As the division of web sites is on the basis of communities, it means the web page can only exist in one community. Though option has been given to completely delete the existing URL and remake the site in some other existing community. Note that if the particular name desired is already taken by somebody in the community, it'll not be available for you. So hurry.Note that this feature is open to the customers who have registered to our shorter email facility.

  File Manger:
You can edit, delete and modify the html files in the advanced option. It is expected that you are aware of some basic html. Links to learn html have been provided in the advanced option. You can create as many html files as you want. The only restriction is that the web space should not exceed beyond 1Mb. To edit the files enter the site at the link "login"

  Uploading the files:
You can upload the files(html as well as image files) via browser. In advanced option this facility has been extended.Uploading via ftp has not been given to the users.The customers should have the new versions of browsers as specified( NS ver 2.0 or IE 4.0 above).The file name desired at the server should contain only alphabets(a-z,A-Z), underscore(-) and dot(.) and digits.The size of the file which has to uploaded should not be "0" bytes(Size should be greater than 0 bytes).The directory formation within your home directory isn't permitted. Besides this cgi-bin directory facility is not available.

  FTP/Front Page Publishing/Cgi Facilities:
FTP access to this free web site is not available.Similarly, other softwares like FrontPage etc. which allow Publishing facility are not supported on this free web page site.To upload the files to our server you will have to upload through the web interface provided as described above. Cgi scripting facility is not available on this free web page site

  Your URL:
Your URL will be of the format http://community.vsnl.com/<yourname>; where community means any of the communities mentioned i.e. personal, education, travel, business etc.
